I primarily tested this controller on a Mac and was surprised at how well it worked. It paired to the computer right away and shows up as a DualShock 4. While the overall build and button feel is inferior to that of an official Sony controller, this one still held up pretty well. There was definitely more of a dead zone on the sticks than a genuine DS4, but it wasn't nearly as bad as some other third-party efforts. The only significant disappointment was the d-pad, which felt as mushy and vague as an old Xbox 360 pad. Still, it worked well in the games I tried - even Steam picked it up and would allow you to make customizations in supported titles. I would probably favor a used DS4 over this, but if you want a similar layout and absolutely need to save every penny, then you could certainly do much worse.
