I really enjoyed this game. I originally bought it for Playstation 3. When I moved on, I "canceled" my account. Apparently, this was permanent. I didn't think too much of it, and when I got the itch to play again, I bought the game for Windows and started a new account. When I finally got my Playstation 5, I bought the game for a third time for that platform. In addition, I paid an untold amount in monthly subscription fees.The problem is that Square Enix now refuses to allow me to connect my Playstation 5 to my Square Enix account. Instead, my "canceled" Square Enix account from the Playstation 3 days is apparently permanently and forevermore linked to my Playstation account, and I cannot have more than one linked. This means I cannot use my Playstation 5 purchased game.After an hour on the phone with tech support, I asked where in the User Agreement, the Terms of Service, or the Software License Agreement, it said that my Playstation account could only be linked to one service account. Keep in mind Square allows you to have multiple service accounts. During the time they kept me on hold, I actually reviewed all of the agreements, and none of them say that you can only have one service account per Playstation ID. Further, the tech support could not provide any citation to the agreements saying my old account would be permanently linked to my Playstation account. They simply refused to help, refused to explain why they wouldn't help, refused to point to any language in the agreements as support, and just hung up. I am left with a Playstation 5 purchase I cannot use because it is inexorably linked to a permanently canceled account.So long story short: the game is fun, but Square Enix absolutely sucks. Avoid at all costs.
