I really like ENTTEC and have been using their Art-Net DMX interfaces for literally years as a professional lighting designer. It is with this review that I am completely dismayed at ENTTEC.First, the configuration tool does not work with Mac, and is deprecated for Windows. Not only that but you would have to install FTDI drivers and then use terminal to disable the normal drivers. COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE for a professional product. I use LOTS of USB enable interfaces and I have never had to do this.Of course there is a "new configurator tool" but it costs $15 and in actuality doesn't work either so there's that.Next, it is not Art-Net. I know the product pictures show 2 DMX universes IN but they are some weird flavor of DMX so if you think Resolume, MadMapper, or Madrix is going to pull these up just fine you are wrong - you need another adapter. You can use the USB interface but since the configuration tool doesn't work and support is non-existent during a weekday you are left with the default setting of RGWB pixels only - which means it won't work if you bought your LEDs in this century. Also it means effectively you only get one universe out.Unless of course you want to try some weird terminal command from deep in the internet to try and get the drivers to work.Or... you could just buy a DMXKing product like the LeDMX4 or LeDMX2 and literally be up and running in minutes with a working cross platform configuration tool. Not a paid ad I just am trying to save other LD's time.
