eXtremeRate Black PS5 Controller Thumbsticks - Compatible with PS4 for Gaming

it's pretty much a replacement for the ps4 thumbstick.. it's a little rough but expected and you have to give it a good push down to properly apply it to the circuit(?)...The picture of this item gives the impression that these sticks look like the soft torch velvety red products out there, but it's not. It's a dull tomato soup colored red with no gradient, shine or reflectiveness. It's basically an ugly deep, almost brownish red. Very different than the picture which appears to shine.I had my boyfriend install these because my cat destroyed the originals. The left one stuck a bit at first no matter what we did. Eventually after a bit of use it wore down enough that it stopped rubbing and getting stuck. Doesn’t match exactly to the purple colored controller but I’m not staring at it so it doesn’t really bother me too much.It was easy to install and saves me a ton of money buying new controllers when my dog keeps sneaking ahold of them and chewing them upIf you never took apart your controller before, this will be a hard install. Was cheaper changing the sticks than buying a new controller.The screwdriver is the correct size and will help remove the 5 screws inside of the dualsense. The pry tool is sturdy enough to help remove most necessary components. The only issue is that the provided analog sticks grind against the housing and won't return to a neutral position when moved. Long story short it'll take the controller apart but they won't be a good analog replacement.The ones I received are exactly like the thumbsticks that come with the DualSense.First off, if you want to install this or any other extremerate product for either gen of your PS5 controller, then youtube I_am_caveman, not extremerate. He is so much more informative and especially vocal!! He made it so much easier to follow, especially when doing the touchpad and L2/R2 buttons.These are second easiest parts to install for a PS5 controller after the trim piece(which requires no unscrewing at all). Just follow the instructional video and you should be in and out in a very amount of time compared to other extremerate parts.Firstly, they look good. Nice texture. Block out light well so only clear base lights up. These are super expensive so I thought they would be half decent. Much better than the 1$ cheap ones. No. The texture wore very quickly, which I may have lived with if then the rubber across the face started to come up. I'm not super aggressive on the sticks and never ever had a stick go like this. I have 3 of the colour change kits which are amazing. The sticks that come with them or you buy separately here look like the photos after approx 30 hours.The rubber is hard and almost hurts your thumbs… the plastic inners are not smooth so movement isnt as good.Poor quality! Destroyed after 2 weeks of usage. Do not buy !Used for about 2weeks and rubber has rippedUPDATE: 5 months in, the sticks are starting to fall apart and I have to buy new ones. They're cheap so I'm not too mad, but its still frustrating that they fall apart within a year.Using a youtube video made the whole process easy. Having the tools included made things simple. I do have to say that the thumb-sticks had a lot of material peeling off (very small bits) at the beginning but that's stopped after the first several hours of use. Happy with the purchase, glad that I replaced the thumb-sticks instead of buying a new controller.
