Let me start off by being clear: if it was possible for me to use a SNES controller to play every single game in my library, I would do it, so seeing what is effectively a SNES controller with analog sticks and triggers+shoulders [although the "triggers" on the back, while they read analog, mechanically function as "on" or "off", despite a clear axis-based sensor being employed, noticeable if you very carefully tap the triggers; weird design choice but not enough to put me off] that is obviously something to get excited over. And I was, and continued to be even after I got the controller and, despite some small [not even 5 minute] difficulties, got it hooked up and working with both my PC and my Switch. However, after purchasing Mid Feb [on the 16th] and rather extensive use, three and a half short months later, it won't turn on - even if i plug it in, it won't light up and my computer does not recognize the hardware at all, even after checking drivers, confirming the cable/usb port work, etc.My instinct says that it's an issue to do with the USB-C port on the top, as there's really nothing bracing the cable's connecting component from pulling on the solder, directly on the controller's main board, [based on the controller's tendency to lose connection with the PC intermittently over a known good cable in the last few weeks before its demise] but I haven't taken it apart to find out for sure [update: i've taken it apart to at least inspect how it was made - while i haven't 100% confirmed the true reason for the hardware to fail, it did confirm my suspicions that the port had effectively no bracing, just solder. big engineering no-no if you're expecting it to be plugged in during use] - it is likely either this, or the battery outright dying, but either way, it results in a non-working controller for me.It wasn't a bad cost, and i really, really liked the overall shape of the controller [purely because i love classic controllers; if you were looking for "this lets my hands wrap all the way around it", it isn't for that], but it doesn't seem to withstand extensive use. I can't truly recommend a device that can't withstand heavy use, especially when something as basic as the port not being properly braced seems to be the root cause. Real shame too; i can't overstate how much i loved the feel of this controller.I thought it'd be cool to own an old school style controller since I primarily use my switch to play arcade type games and this is the perfect controller. Other similar products I vetted were twice the price so I was initially a bit skeptical of the quality. But after buying I'm extremely satisfied. The quality is great and it fits the hand really well. It was super easy to connect and the battery seems to have good staying power thus far. Very nostalgic to see and feel like you're playing with a SNES controller. The joysticks feel very natural and don't take away from the nostalgic experience. Not sure how playing with this for a more dynamic controlled game but could be fun. If you're looking for a fun arcade controller for a fantastic price choose this.I would have given it 5 stars, but certain switch charging cords/chargers don’t work with it and sometimes it’s not able to be synced while charging.Once it’s synced it’s awesome though!Very comfortable for long play times, and I can use it like an old fight pad for certain games.Battery life seems to be better than my firstParty Xbox 1 controllers.Nostalgia, Holding it brings me right back to playing Super Nintendo with the family as a kid. 10/10 would buy again1 week in, Works great out of the box and plays perfectly. Half the price of the 8bitdo controller. Thus far, no complaints. Just press the home button on the controller, and it connects. Feels just like an SNES controller, just with the addition of joysticks ( which must be used for games like Smash Bros)and has 4 shoulder buttons instead of 2.~1 month in: works great for Street Fighter, Dragon Ball Fighterz, and my mario games. Love this controller, highly recommended!~ 6 months later: the L2 button is stuck (not physically, but the game detects it being continually pressed) and does not function properly. Otherwise the rest of the controller works great. Shame, it's my favorite controller. I'd recommend you switch over and purchase retro products that are of a higher quality. But if I can find a way to fix the issue, I'll give back a star. Otherwise this went from being a 5 star to 3 star product.I've had this for a few weeks now. I've played through several games. Some 2-D (Megaman X, Castlevania)Some 3-D (Resident Evil 0, Resident Evil 4)I've also tried multiple control schemes out for each game listed above using this controller. While I'm satisfied with the product, I feel there's some room for improvement.- The sticks are too long. If these were closer to analog nubs than actual sticks, I feel this will increase comfort exponentially! If possible, perhaps install an adjustable sensitivity option.- The rumble is a bit more intrusive than it actually adds to the game experience. It's very loud, and makes the controller vibrates a bit sporadically compared to my other Switch controllers.Aside from those two things though, everything else on the controller works great! The buttons feel nice, and the back bumbers don't feel out of place on a SNES style controller. Not a bad purchase for the price!ive put 20plus hours into this controller on BOTW and it still works as good as day one. the dpad is stiff when you get it not badly but a tad. after a few hours of break in it feels great. gonna get another but I'm waiting a little to see if they get a new design. trust me any bad reviews are either they got a bad controller that can always be replaced or they got to be super picky cause this thing is great.
