Everything else is to match style. I would talk about shock absorption or parts as far as the faceplate cover. I guess it would help, yes sure, but you do not want to put such a delicate piece of technology through any kind of rough bumps or drops. You should not be handing your headset around to people who have butter fingers. They would have to drop from no more than 3-4 feet straight onto the rubber spikes at the front and maybe just maybe it'll be okay, anything else, just 'no.' I guess it does help if you want to set it down on its face where the spikes are but you want to make sure your headset is as safe and secure as possible. The face cover is not at all useless, I just don't want anyone taking unnecessary risks. Setting it on the ground on the spikes will save you maybe half a second of just setting it down gently and correctly, also now the lenses are exposed more to light and any potential sun rays. The controller grips and the strap that goes around the hand is king though. The rubber eye cover is okay. Works as advertised and does cover the nose better to control light blid. I thought removing sweat absorption was the better option. In my case and imo, I was wrong. The soft sponge it comes with the headset is just fine.I have not even tried the rubber thumb joystick grips, I just don't feel I need them. I do like that the headset cover matches the controller grips. If you dont care about anything else. Trust me, a controller cover and hand strap are essential for throwing objects like nades or rocks or anything in VR. The security it offers is just perfect. And the hand-feel is much nicer too. I took the covers off to test after a few weeks. Yikes. Super yikes! Those controllers are way too smooth as-is and slippery and the wrist string is only good to keep the controllers from flying into the air. The difference is night and day, you'll see. If you didnt like VR before subconsciously it might have been the lack of security when holding the baby smooth controllers, causing anxiety in anything you need to do in-game. Try again with a gamer-grade grip and hand strap like this one and set yourself free in the world of Virtual Reality.
